Hoegaarden wheat beer has a truly unique heritage. BELGIAN ABBEY ALE
Leffe beers are authentic Belgian abbey beers, brewed according to the traditional recipe of the Abbey of Leffe which was founded in 1152. The Norbertine fathers were excited to discover on the site a mineral spring, limpid and pure. In 1240, this water became the basis for Leffe. Leffe Blonde is a dry, fruity, lightly spiced Belgian Abbey Ale, quite full and creamy; a perfect balance of strength and subtlety.
The bitterness is delicate, extending over the whole palette and lingering as a subtle aftertaste. Leffe should be served slightly warmer than usual at 41°F to allow its distinct aromatic characteristics to escape and should always be served in its proprietary Chalice glass. Leffe is brewed to the same recipe as it was in 1240.
